ACPA 2019 - Presentation: Boston, Massachusetts
For this year's national conference, I presented with my advisor, Dr. Chrystal George Mwangi. We were awarded special recognition for our work on foreign-born Black collegians.

January 2019 - Publication
Starting the new year with great news, a book chapter that I worked on with some amazing scholars, soon-to-be-PhD Shelvia English, & new PhD Dr. Dayne Hutchinson. Our chapter, entitled "Afro-Caribbean Experiences from a Bicultural Socialization Perspective" was published in the book Pan African Spaces: Essays on Black Transnationalism.

CSA 2018 - Presentation: Havana, Cuba
I was selected to present work, alongside a panel of BAWSE Afro-Caribbean women, at the 2018 meeting of the Caribbean Studies Association conference, in Havana, Cuba. It was a great experience, and our panel was entitled "Mi Deh Ya, Too: Caribbean Students Navigate Bicultural Identity" and it was truly amazing.

April 2019 - DiRP Conference, TC
Going back to my graduate alma mater, Teachers College, Columbia University for the 10th annual DiRP Conference, where the BadGyal Syllabus was unveiled for the first time. More on that later!

April 2019, DiRP Conference, Teachers College, Columbia University
Again, it was my pleasure to return to my graduate Alma Mater, Teachers College, Columbia University and present on data (dis)aggregation & foreign-born Caribbean students being accounted for responsibly & accurately.

May 2019, I finished Yr One!
After many, ups and downs, I came to the end of the road. I completed year one of my doctoral studies. I was ready to give up, often, and I did not. I accomplished some goals, and I took the summer "off" to work and write elsewhere. I also came back to year two energized and loving it. Feeling good & looking good!

June 2018, CSA Conference, Santa Marta Colombia
Funnily enough, folks thought I was going to a conference at Columbia University rather than in Colombia, the country. So, yes, the Caribbean Studies Association conference was held in Santa Marta, and I was again blessed to attend this conference and present twice.
